Breath of Equanimity

A short practice to settle the mind in steadiness, inspired by the Gita's teaching on evenness of mind.

  1. 1Sit comfortably and let the spine be tall.
  2. 2Close the eyes and take three slow breaths.
  3. 3Inhale for a count of four; exhale for a count of six.
  4. 4With each exhale, release the need for any outcome.
  5. 5Rest in the space between thoughts.
  6. 6Return to the breath whenever the mind wanders.
  7. 7When ready, gently open the eyes.
